049 Events Karaoke Update

Hi fellow 049'rs. I just wanted to post a quick message to alert
you to some of the things coming up at 049!

1) We are available for parties if anyone is interested or if anyone
knows someone looking for a KJ (Karakoe DJ). Send me an email at
shawn@049events.com if you need a KJ!

2) Next Wednesday (11/16/05) is our LAST day at Edinburgh Castle.
Unfortunately, the venue did not suit itself to karaoke so we
decided to move on. So come down and eat some fish and chips and
sing good bye to edinburgh with us.

3) We are looking for a new venue and have some great leads. Right
now we are STRONGLY leaning towards "The Connecticut Yankee". What
do you guys think of this place? Have you been there? Here are the
things I like
a) TONS of parking
b) TONS of public transportation
c) full kitchen serving meals all night
d) full bar with cheap drinks!
e) big open space with small stage for karaoke people
f) great sound system
g) The karaoke will be integrated with the bar instead of tucked
away in a corner
h) outdoor patio
i) right on the street so you can easily step outside for a
cigarrette.

    I would be all over the "The Connecticut Yankee" for the reasons you cite. Moreover, it is close to my place (but that is my selfish interest). While Edinburgh may have been for a few reasons, the upstairs was an uninviting dungeon. I hope you have a new place to alight soon!

    Where is the conneticut Yankee?

    And why is it the Conneticut Yankee? Why not the New Hampshire Yankee, or the Rhode Island Yankee?

    I'm not sure I can sing at a location that isn't representive of ALL of the New England States.

    I just don't know.

    I still have classes every Wednesday (next semester as well) so me hitting Karaoke is unlikely. That said I love the CY.

    Although their scotch selection cannot hold a candle to EC. :sigh:

    I know I didn't make it to EC so I have nothing to complain about. I say go for it! And good luck!

      We are back! We have started a weekly (wednesay night) karaoke gig at Julie's Supper Club on 7th and Folsom! This place is made for karaoke. You get to sing in the big front window so people can watch you sing as they walk by on the street. There is a large comfortable bar and plenty of seating. Plus room to dance AND a bar that has been known to have a few dancers jump on top of and get down.
